Where did it start:
Rocky is a graduate of Portsmouth University and joined expand in September 2019 to support the new Contract Recruitment team. Having spent a number of years in the real-estate sector and a short stop in computer hardware sales Rocky was attracted to recruitment by the relationship between hard work and reward.
Journey so far:
Having joined the contract team initially up until the run up to IR35, Rocky’s first experience of recruitment was a baptism of fire. That said cutting your teeth in a challenging market can be the making of recruiters and looking back Rocky learned more in that year about business development than most. During the pandemic Rocky took the opportunity to shift his focus to expand's permanent team where he now works with our Gaming and eSports Clients.
What’s happening now:
Turns out the move paid dividends unleashing Rocky’s inner geek. Rocky has the knack of getting to grips with our customers and quickly figuring out what good candidates look like in a sea of acronyms that mean little to most. He is broadening expand's relationships with existing customers into areas that we previously had no footprint and on-boarding new customers that benefit the wider business. All this while planning (paying) for his wedding.
Where next:
Rocky has recently been promoted to Senior Consultant and is now heading up the Gaming and eSports division for EMEA & APAC. His primary focus now, is to be the go to recruiter in the industry.
