Our Nottingham-based Client is on a mission to become the Pixar of web3 and revolutionize the field of Crypto and Blockchain games! They are currently working on their first game, a fun third-person arcade platform called AFAR that pits players against each other in a series of obstacle courses and shooting-based challenges. With more than $10 million in total funding from leading investors, as well as angel investors they now have a valuation upwards of $100 million!

About The Role

Their team is looking for a UI/UX Designer to join our rapidly growing organisation. Reporting to the Art Director, you will be responsible for the UX and UI concepts and design for our upcoming AFAR series of games. This role is a great opportunity to build something from the ground up without being hindered by an existing design system, and so is ideally suited to either somebody with a history of leading a UI/UX project or somebody looking to take that next step.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and design the game UI, including 2D and 3D HUD + GUI elements, boot-up sequences, loading screens and menus
  • Assure that game information is well conveyed through the various user interfaces
  • Work closely with the code team to implement assets into the game and verify the quality of the graphics once implemented
  • Keep control of assets production, respecting technical constraints and optimization guidelines

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in the gaming industry, specialising in the creation of interfaces and in menu design
  • Knowledge of UI/UX industry standards and trends
  • Ability to work with a high degree of self-direction and motivation
  • Expert in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and other creative tools
  • Excellent graphic design skills (design, layout, typography)
  • Familiar with industry game engines Unity and Unreal
