Watching That are an early stage SaaS adtech platform that help publishers truly understand the value of the video advertising on their sites.

The Challenge

Watching That are a seed stage adtech platform that have a huge growth plan over the next three years. They needed to hire an experienced global marketer that was more interested in the overall career opportunity than a salary increase and huge bonus (those things will come later!)

The Approach

As an investor in Watching That, we work closely with the founders to understand the needs of the business and hiring strategy over the course of multiple quarters.  This particular search was brought forward from Q4 to Q3 due to the needs the business changing. Because of the close relationship we have with the founders we had planned the search and candidate pool already. We ensured we had identified every adtech marketing lead in the UK that had specific start up experience.

The Numbers

70 candidates were targeted with 8 candidates initially qualifying.  6 were interviewed by expand with 6 candidates being shortlisted.  The hire was made within 3 weeks.

The Outcome

We were able to hire an exceptional candidate that had global marketing experience within the video adtech sector. The candidate had just been through an exit event so was very excited to join new start-up and start the journey again.
