Open RAN Senior Implementation and Test Engineer 

The 5G Operations team in NEC Europe provides customer facing delivery and support services for the ORAN network, including ORAN network deployment.

The Challenge

As well as having a proven track record working in a RAN environment, the successful candidate needed to have a base knowledge/experience with Transport Network and Core platforms. As well as the above the candidate needed to have managerial experience or have experience of guiding a team of engineers at some point.

The Approach

Maintaining candidate relationships and setting expectations played a major part in helping to make this hire successful. The successful candidate was one we had built a relationship with over the last 4 months and had come across in a search for a competitor. Building rapport and keeping in constant contact helped to set the candidates expectations of the hiring company.

The Numbers

63 candidates were targeted with 12 candidates initially qualifying.  6 candidates were shortlisted and an offer made in 3 weeks.

The Outcome

The candidate has had over 15 years’ experience in telecoms and she had worked for some industry-leaders. As well as having experience as a senior RAN engineer the candidate has had exposure to both the Core and IP network.
