Business Development Director


IPONWEB is an AI, Data and Engineering company.

The Challenge

This global AdTech vendor was looking for incremental revenue grow through their existing accounts.  They hired expand to find a Business Development Director.

After announcing a merger with the powerhouse Criteo  - as part of the acquisition, they had set up a new team in order to grow the accounts they had. Already working with many large Clients, there was a great opportunity to increase the amount of spend these business put through them.

The Approach

IPONWEB is a Client that expand have worked with for some time, so we understood the client and what they were looking for in terms of culture fit for their business. We engaged with the Hiring Manager, CRO and Head of Talent to ensure we knew the exact level of experience they needed this individual to have. Hitting the market hard, we engaged with multiple candidates, but was able to move candidates forward or reject them based on the knowledge we had from these calls.

The Numbers

133 candidates were initially targeted with 22 candidates initially qualified.  14 were interviewed by expand and 5 candidates shortlisted. The hire was made in 6 weeks.

The Outcome

Initially we had put 4 candidates through to interview for the position, all 4 went through the interview process with 2 making it to the final stages. We had a candidate enter the process at the halfway point of the other candidates, at second stage while the others were at first. One of the initial candidates rejected the offer and the other accepted an offer elsewhere. The candidate that was slightly behind finished the process was offered the role and accepted.
