Cogent is one of the world's largest Internet Service Providers, delivering high-quality Internet, Ethernet and Colocation services.

The Challenge

Cogent were looking to expand their sales team. As with all new business roles they required motivated candidates who understand how to follow process to become a successful sales person.

The Approach

We met with each of the hiring managers as well as the VP to understand in detail about who they were looking for. We then crafted a job advert for LinkedIn and selected job boards. From then we selected and screened candidates we thought looked suited to the role, narrowing the selection down to nine who specifically fitted the brief.

The Numbers

One hundred candidates originally applied to the role, with thirty-one people being initially screened.  Nine candidates were put forward with four being interviewed.  One hire was made.

The Outcome

Our Candidate came from a competitor and had the right level of in-depth sales experience Cogent were looking for.  She was well versed in the industry throughout her career, having ideal experience dealing with different customers and Clients as well as cold calling and bringing in new business.  Both parties are delighted.
