Why did you join expand?

After 10 years of Estate Agency, I decided to have a complete career change. expand offered me the opportunity to utilise my sales skills in the recruitment industry. Fortunately for me, I am very good friends with one of the Directors and one of the Principal Consultants which made my decision a very easy one!

How did the company support you during the pandemic?

I think we can safely say that we all had individual challenges working from home. expand really took this on board and worked quickly to get us all working online from home. Since then, we have adopted a very flexible way of working whereby we only work 2-3 days in the office a week. The Directors were super thoughtful throughout the pandemic and made sure every single member of staff was comfortable and happy. If anything, it has brought us closer as we got to see the other side of our colleague and their home environment through numerous video calls.

What support is there in expand for career progression?

I have been here for 2 years now, and the progression has been clearly identified from the start. expand give you all the tools and knowledge to succeed. I came from no recruitment experience to now being a full 360 consultant in a matter of months. Now, I am in the position to hit my target and go after a promotion.

How would you describe your team?

Truthfully? I would say we’re all absolutely crazy in our own weird way! We always have great banter in the office. On a serious note, I think we’re all so driven to succeed and be professional, we just crack on with the job at hand but also have a laugh. What I’ve found since working with expand is that everyone goes through the same emotions and stresses, if one of us has a bad day, the rest of the team will pick you up and motivate you to keep going.

What’s your favourite part about working for expand?

THE MONEY! Haha, just a joke. I think the best thing about working for expand is genuinely the friendly nature of everyone in the business and the atmosphere we have created in the office. But the money does help though.

What have you got planned for the next 12 months?

On a business level – I’m looking to gain a promotion at expand and be the go-to person for Tech Hires in FinTech and eCommerce markets.

On a personal level – to get married in September!
